I didn't figure this out from the outside. I built it from inside the constraints.
I started my business two months after my son was born.
Eight months later, with a baby on my hip, I signed my first client. I had my first $15k month while I was still nursing. I hit my first six-figure year with a one-year-old.
For years, I was the main breadwinner. Building, creating, growing, while also being the one my family needed me to be.
Then we lost two people to cancer in the same year. Grief doesn't pause for your content calendar.
But here's what I learned: because I had built my brand in an aligned way, rooted in my story, built around my real life, I was able to shift.
I could show up in the way that was right for that season. I could still serve my clients, still scale the business, and still give myself the space to grieve, to make hard life choices, to be a human being going through something enormous. The business held because the foundation was built to hold.
That same flexibility carried us through two years of full-time RV living. We sold everything and traveled the country as a family.
That was actually one of my biggest personal branding years. Features in CNBC, Entrepreneur, Fast Company. Audience growth. Content that kept working while we were out living.
Now my days look different.
My husband is back to working full time.
I homeschool my son. I run a home, tend a garden, bake sourdough, manage the invisible labor that never makes it onto anyone's business plan. The mental load. The meal planning. The thousand small things that don't clock out just because you have a launch happening.
I worked hard. I won't pretend otherwise. But I built in the margins. The early mornings. The quiet hours. The pockets of time that were actually mine. And I built smart, with a system that didn't require me to sacrifice my family, my peace, or my presence to make it work.
